Alliance for the Arts: The Fort Myers arts center has postponed or suspended all activities for the immediate future. That includes the Fringe Fort Myers festival (April 22-26, postponed), the Artist Studio Tour (March 28, postponed), storyteller Bil Lepp (March 20-21, canceled), the weekly GreenMarket (canceled), all March classes (canceled), the Seussical Kids Spring Break Camp (March 16-21, canceled), indoor bluegrass concerts (canceled for March and April), and rehearsals and performances of the shows "Charlotte's Web" and "I Never Saw Another Butterfly" (postponed). artinlee.org

Area Agency on Aging for Southwest Florida has postponed all workshops and presentations through the end of March. 

Artis—Naples: The Naples arts venue has canceled its Masterworks Series and all other events and classes through April 12. Call 597-1900 for exchange information.

Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum: The Sanibel Island museum will close March 17 and remain closed until further notice. A limited number of staff will maintain the building’s operation and ensure the welfare of its animals. shellmuseum.org

Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall: The south Fort Myers venue has suspended all performances through May 1. bbmannpah.com

BIG ARTS: The Sanibel Island arts venue has suspended the rest of its entertainment season. bigarts.org

Centers for the Arts Bonita Springs, All events and performances have been cancelled or postponed through May 11.

Cultural Park Theater: The Cape Coral community theater has temporarily suspended the rest of its season. They hope to re-open after the week of April 8. culturalparktheater.com

Fifth Avenue South in Naples is following CDC recommendations and guidelines for restaurant and retail customer and employee safety.

First Church of Christ, Naples: All events, services and Sunday school meetings cancelled until further notice. 

Florida Repertory Theatre: The south Fort Myers theater has canceled all remaining performances of "Every Brilliant Thing" and "A Doll’s House, Part 2," as well as the upcoming production of "Ripcord" and the 2020 PlayLab Festival of new works. Also canceled: The theater's March 28 fundraising gala — although organizers are putting together an event that can be live-streamed as a telethon to raise funds for Florida Rep and Florida Rep Education. floridarep.org

Forum Club of Southwest Florida has canceled its three upcoming speakers: Senator Rick Scott on March 20, CVS Health President & CEO Larry J. Merlo on April 3, and Morgan Stanley CEO James P. Gorman.

Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples: Closed March 15-22. School visits and events scheduled at the museum will be canceled and potentially rescheduled. Assessments on when to reopen will continue over the week and announcements made later.

Golden Gate Senior Center is cancelling all events except the hot lunch program, which will run through Friday, March 20. The Center will close on Monday, March 23, and will remain closed through the end of the month and possibly indefinitely. Meals of Hope will continue to operate the mobile food pantry on Thursdays at 2 p.m. at the Center. 

Gulf Coast Symphony: The community orchestra has suspended all its events through May 1. All its productions have been rescheduled for May, October or November. facebook.com/gulfcoastsymphony

Holocaust Museum and Cohen Education Center in Naples, closed and programs suspended until further notice.

IMAG History & Science Center: The Fort Myers center has temporarily closed its building and also suspended all on-site camps, meetings, events and programs until further notice. That includes their fundraiser, "An Evening in Old Havana." theimag.org

The Laboratory Theater of Florida: The downtown Fort Myers theater has paused all productions, classes, workshops and internships, and hopes to reschedule them later. facebook.com/LabTheaterFL

Moorings Presbyterian Church in Naples suspends church programs, Sunday school and youth gatherings, committee meetings and worship services. "We are planning to resume Sunday Worship on Palm Sunday, April 5," the church said.

Naples Concert Band has canceled their March 28 and April 19 concerts.

Naples Senior Center has cancelled all onsite programs for the next two weeks. Home visits and phone calls to  seniors who depend upon the center for socialization and support. Naples Wine Company: Friday night tastings are on hiatus currently and all in-store events featuring winery reps/winemakers/winery owners are on-hold.

Public transit

Starting March 24, Collier Area Transit and CAT Connect will suspend all fares until further notice. All passengers are asked to enter and exit through the rear door of the bus to allow for additional distancing between operators and passengers, per Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.

Lee County Transit (LeeTran) suspended fares effective March 21. LeeTran riders won't pay until further notice to reduce interactions between drivers and the public. The majority of LeeTran's fleet is equipped for rear-entry, which will be used during this time. Once aboard, riders are encouraged to use CDC guidelines for social distancing.

City of Bonita Springs

City Council on March 13 held a special meeting and decided to postpone all special event permits for 30 days in the interest of preventing potential exposure of COVID-19. The city will offer refunds for event fees for cancelled events.

Upcoming events that are scheduled during the 30-day moratorium will need to be postponed or cancelled. The situation will be assessed again as this thirty day period concludes. Any future decisions about additional efforts will be communicated at that time.  Prior to the meeting this morning, the city had been informed that approximately six upcoming event permits decided to cancel/postpone as a precaution for the local community. The city is also postponing upcoming city organized events, Celebrate Bonita and Movies in the Park.  

Naples YMCA Updates

The Greater Naples YMCA will remain open, for now, with regularly scheduled operational hours, but there will be reduced services, classes and programs:

Classes and programs will be suspended starting Monday, March 16, and resume April 1. This includes group exercise classes, including Aqua Classes, the Kid Zone (Child Watch), pickleball and tennis, and personal training sessions.

The Y will follow the direction and decision of the Collier County school district for youth development programs, including the Early Learning Center. No regularly scheduled after-school program will be offered if the school district closes. No all-day “Fun Day” program will be offered starting Tuesday, March 17, if the school district closes.

Kids Night Out program is canceled for Saturday, March 14. All paid registrants will be automatically rescheduled when activities resume.
