Here's what we know about the Golden Gate Estates brush fire

Multiple agencies have been working together since Wednesday afternoon to battle a brush fire in Golden Gate Estates. Here’s what we know.
Location of brush fire
Both the 22nd Avenue SE and the 36th Avenue SE fires are being reported as one fire, 36th Avenue SE, according to the Florida Forest Service Caloosahatchee Forestry Center. The largest section is near Frangipani Avenue south to Interstate 75 and from Collier Boulevard east to Everglades Boulevard South.
Size and containment
The 36th Avenue Southeast fire remains at 8,663 acres and 40 percent contained as of Saturday morning, according to the Florida Forest Service.
Number of structures destroyed
At least seven homes have been destroyed by the wildfire that continues to burn in Golden Gate Estates near Alligator Alley, fire leaders said Friday.
Mandatory and voluntary evacuations lifted
The mandatory evacuations have been lifted effective immediately, according to the Greater Naples Fire Rescue District.
Here were the mandatory evacuations:
- Beck Boulevard
- Le Buff Road
- Benfield Road
- South of the landfill to east of the landfill
- Sunrise Boulevard
- Jay Lane and Eagle
- Kingfisher Circle
- Keane Avenue
- Forest Glen Boulevard
- Periwinkle Way
- Jungle Plum Drive East and West
- Bishopwood Court East and West
- 39th Street Southwest and side streets to include 11th Avenue Southwest through 31st Avenue Southwest
- 18th Avenue Southeast to 40th Ave Southeast off of Everglades Boulevard South
Need a ride to a shelter? Uber can help
Uber is offering voucher rides to and or from shelter locations, according to a news release.
The voucher is valid for one trip using the Uber app up to $20 and is redeemable until 11 p.m on May 31.
The shelters for residents who are evacuating from their homes have been set up at two locations in Naples:
- Max Hasse Community Center, 3390 Golden Gate Boulevard W
- Golden Gate Community Center, 4701 Golden Gate Parkway
