Pedestrian darts in front of incoming car, left in critical condition, Highway Patrol says

A 32-year-old Immokalee man is in critical condition after being struck by a sedan in East Naples on Saturday night, Florida Highway Patrol says.

The man was running south in the northbound lanes of Santa Barbara Boulevard when he darted in front of a 61-year-old driver in a sedan, a release states. The car struck the man at 9:51 p.m..

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, according to the release.
