Fourth medical marijuana dispensary opens in Bonita Springs
From ancient China to 420, pot has come a long way.
The medical marijuana dispensary buzz in Bonita Springs continues as a fourth dispensary opens Thursday.
VidaCann announced in a news release that its 10th Florida location will be at 26251 U.S. 41 South, Suite 7. The dispensary will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will offer a delivery service.
Three dispensaries are already open in Bonita Springs. Another three are going through the city’s application process.
Marijuana flowers, capsules, vaporizers and tinctures — a concentrated liquid dripped under the tongue — are planned for sale at the Bonita Springs site, according to VidaCann. Dosages will range from high concentrations to non-psychoactive strains, the release states.
“We are thrilled to have our 10th dispensary location open for patients in Bonita Springs,” stated Peyton Moseley, vice president of production development, in the release. “Whether patients can visit our stores or take advantage of our delivery services, we are confident that they will find a product that works for them.”
VidaCann plans to host several events in the coming weeks for patients, physicians and community members, the release states.
Trulieve, Curaleaf and Surterra Wellness Center have opened Bonita Springs locations in recent months. The City Council allowed medical marijuana dispensaries within city limits in March 2018.
Companies have scrambled to gain a foothold in the important market, said Vinit Patel, regional dispensary operations manager of Curaleaf, in an interview last month.
“This is a relatively affluent area with many people searching for medicinal cannabis,” Patel said then.
Bonita Springs is the closest dispensaries near the Naples and Marco Island markets. Collier County has a dispensary ban in place.
