A handful of Southwest Florida high school basketball players recently earned all-state accolades from the Florida Association of Basketball Coaches.

First Baptist Academy senior Peyton Urbancic was picked for the Class 2A All-State First Team by the FABC and Source Hoops. The 6-foot-5 senior is signed to play at Tulsa next season.

Three local players made the second team in their classifications – Evangelical Christian junior Aaron Jones (2A), Community School junior Ryker Vance (3A) and Naples High junior Tony Green (5A).

Three players earned third team recognition – Mariner senior D’sean Archilles, Fort Myers junior Javian McCollum, and Charlotte junior Tre Carroll.

In girls basketball, Barron Collier senior Jada McCray was named the FABC’s Class 6A Player of the Year. McCray averaged 21.8 points per game.

First Baptist boys coach Scott Stewart was named FABC 2A Coach of the Year, while Naples coach Garrett Hull earned the honor in 5A.

The FABC also hands out college awards. Florida SouthWestern sophomore Keon Ellis was picked as the men’s junior college Player of the Year. The 6-5 guard averaged 18.1 and will play at Alabama next season.
