Check forecast before you go. Few big sheepshead still working structure spots circa Addison Bay, Rookery Bay and Hurricane Pass as tide eases on shrimp, cut crabs. Cool keeps spec trout active; west edges Calhoun Channel and cut north Canon Island over sea grass bottom with shrimp under popper 4'-6' on drift. Expect clearing water Capri, Caxambas, Hurricane Passes to hold pompano early incoming on drift with tipped jig to bottom. Mangrove snapper showing good spring action along Keewaydin docks on shrimp in faster moving water.
This week work first, last hour racing tides on first, second reef structure spots with chum and small tipped jigs to attract arriving mackerel, bluefish action. Beneath surface action can expect snapper, retreating sheepshead and whiting and silver trout on small shrimp rigs.
Strong show of pelagics (kings, cobia, permit) continues on deeper reefs, wrecks working live bait under chum. Red grouper bite continues strong 50-55' hard bottom working live pinfish, cut ladyfish tight to hard bottom on tidal drift.
