As of 8 a.m. Wednesday, Hurricane Irma remains a potentially catastrophic Category 5 storm moving west-northwest at 16 mph toward South Florida.


As motorists flock to gas stations across Collier County in preparation for Hurricane Irma, gas is running low, including on Marco Island.

At 7:30 a.m. today, the Marco Island Police Department reported no fuel available on the island. At 9:47 a.m., several gas stations on the island reportedly had fuel but levels were low.
